Captain Andre Ayew of the Black Stars congratulated the new boys in the squad for making their national debuts during the international break.
As Ghana played against Mali and Qatar in international friendlies, Alexander Djiku, Eugene Ansah, Benson Annang, Raak Abalora, Tarique Fosu and Kamaldeen Sulemana all made their debuts.
Some were impressed by Tarique Fosu’s debut goal for the country, but the coach, Charles Kwabla Akonnor, has yet to persuade others.
Ayew congratulated the players, however, and encouraged them never to give up.
He posted on Twitter, “Congratulations to the new boys for having their 1st cap. Keep believing and never give up!.”
Last Friday, the Black Stars lost 3-0 to Mali but bounced back on Monday to thrash Asian champions Qatar 5-1.
The matches were preparations for next month ‘s upcoming qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations against Sudan, and the Swansea superstar is optimistic the squad will be ready for the matches.
“Lots to learn from both games. The reaction in the 2nd game was great after a tough 1st game. We’re going to be ready for inshallah next month,” he wrote.
