Mahama Ayariga Holds The Bank Of Ghana Accountable For Write-Offs By The Government And Others

Mahama Ayariga, the member of parliament for Bawku Central, has requested that the Bank of Ghana furnish particular information in accordance with the Right to Information (RTI) Act.

In accordance with Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minority Leader, Mr. Ayariga has formally requested specific details.

The status of the write-offs made in relation to the government’s debt to the Bank of Ghana is one of his demands.

In addition, the former Minister of Information is looking for an explanation for the GHC70 billion in combined losses that were listed in the BoG’s 2022 and 2023 financial statements.

Ayariga has also asked for a report on the costs associated with the contentious head office project, pointing out that they have been rising.

In accordance with the RTI Act, he has given the Bank of Ghana seven days to comply with his requests.
