Known by his stage name Fredyma, music producer Fred Kyei Mensah has endorsed singer King Paluta‘s involvement in Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign.
With election season quickly approaching, he thinks now is the ideal moment for the “Aseda” artist to take advantage of his musical abilities.
Fredyma played down worries that Paluta’s career might suffer, pointing out that other musicians who are politically active are still doing well.
The seasoned music producer, Okatakyie Afrifa, said in an interview with Angel FM that King Paluta’s song “resonated with Bawumia’s campaign, leading to an invitation to join them.” If they are spotted performing together, why should we be offended? This is his chance to turn a profit. Some people worry that getting involved in politics may hurt their careers.
But historical evidence indicates that politically active artists frequently see a spike in their level of success in their careers. Mercy Asiedu, Rex Omar, Nacee, and other others were not condemned for their political beliefs.”
Following the publication of a video that purportedly showed King Paluta and Vice President Bawumia attending campaign rallies, this statement was made.
The vice president and King Paluta were seen playing their hit song “Aseda” on a bus tour in the Ashanti Region. The video instantly went viral on the internet.
King Paluta defended his conduct by saying that it was not a problem to accept the Vice President’s offer and referred to his detractors as “empty-headed.”
His comments, nevertheless, caused a great deal of public outrage.
