Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park Management Is Given A Two-Week Ultimatum By The Tourism Minister To Enhance Work

The Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park’s director has been given the order to start repairs at the facility right away by the Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Andrew Egyapa Mercer, who also happens to be the MP for Sekondi.

On Wednesday, June 19, 2024, he made this call on a working visit to the park after noticing a few maintenance gaps.

This upkeep will include, among other things, hiring commercial cleaning services to keep the building and its grounds consistently clean and preserved, upgrading the irrigation system, painting the walls on a regular basis, and acquiring extra mowers to make sure the lawns are maintained in good condition.

Given the gravity of the situation, Egyapa Mercer directed the facility’s director to close all loopholes within a fortnight; following this, a follow-up visit would be scheduled to conduct a comprehensive facility inspection.

The minister stated that he is still determined to work tirelessly to guarantee that Ghana’s tourist infrastructure is adequately conserved for future generations.
