Mahama Sent 200 Seats For My Film Debut And A Brand-New Bus For My School, LilWin.

Ghanaian actor Kwadwo Nkansah, better known by his stage name LilWin, has recalled former President John Dramani Mahama’s generosity toward him.

Mahama kindly bought 200 tickets for his impending film debut, according to LilWin, so that people who couldn’t afford them could still go.

The former president and NDC flagbearer also expressed a wish to attend the premiere if he had more time on his hands, according to the actor.

LilWin recalled receiving a late-night call from Mahama on Twitter, writing, “I was taken aback to receive a call from Mahama at approximately midnight. He was worried that my movie would have political overtones, but he came around after I gave him the rundown. He suggested that I give away the 200 tickets he purchased. Additionally, he said he will try to make it to the premiere.”

Furthermore, LilWin pointed out that Mahama has previously shown his benevolence.

He related an incident in which, after expressing the need for better transportation for his school, Mahama helped his son obtain a school bus that was worth more than GH¢300,000.

LilWin felt obliged to make the donation public despite Mahama’s desire to keep it private in the hopes of encouraging others to carry out similar deeds of kindness.

LilWin said, “After I was interviewed regarding our school bus problems, Mahama’s son generously purchased a brand-new Benz bus for us that was worth over GH¢300,000. Though I believe it’s crucial to acknowledge such goodness to encourage more, he opted not to broadcast it.”

A Country Called Ghana, directed by LilWin, will have its world premiere on Friday, May 17, at the National Theatre. It will run through May 25, 2024, at KNUST in Kumasi.
