Nicholas Omane Acheampong Warns Ghanaians, “Vote For Bawumia Or Risk Free SHS Abolition Under Mahama”

To maintain the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy, gospel musician Nicholas Omane Acheampong has urged Ghanaians to support Dr. Mahamamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer.

He emphasized that, although things have greatly improved since then, orphaned children’s education was frequently stopped after junior high school (JHS) under John Dramani Mahama’s administration.

Nicholas Omane Acheampong acknowledged that the Free SHS policy, which was put into effect by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, made it possible for kids from underprivileged families, including orphans, to pursue secondary school without any obstacles.

He warned that if elected president, Dr. Mahamamudu Bawumia would destroy the Free SHS policy, thus he encouraged Ghanaians to support him in defending it.

“Orphaned youngsters who finished JHS were not allowed to continue on to high school under Mahama. Some were left behind, while others got help from strangers. Nearly all orphaned children may now complete secondary school thanks to Akufo-Addo’s Free SHS, and many of them go on to postsecondary institutions like nursing schools.

If Mahama prevails and we do nothing, he will eliminate Free SHS first. In order to preserve these orphans’ access to Free SHS, we must sympathize with them and support Bawumia,” he emphasized in Twi during his interview on Agyapa TV.

The statements made by Nicholas Omane Acheampong coincide with Mahama’s getting ready to run in the upcoming elections that are set for December 7, 2024, against Dr. Bawumia and other contenders.
