According to reports, the reason of death for well-known artist Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known by his stage name Mohbad, could not be ascertained after post-mortem investigation of his bones.
Distinguished Nigerian Senior Advocate Wahab Shittu made this disclosure on Wednesday at a news conference at the coroner’s investigation in Lagos State.
According to Shittu, the coroner was notified by the forensic expert in charge of the autopsy that there had been substantial decomposition by the time the examination was carried out.
The pathologist claims that because the body had already decomposed by the time the test was performed, it was impossible to ascertain the cause of death.
In conclusion, he is stating that it is impossible to determine the cause of death. Saying that the cause of death cannot be determined indicates suspicion and ambiguity. Not for any specific reason.
Shittu further reported that the pathologist suggested that Mohbad’s death might have been caused by a drug response that occurred before to his demise.
“The pathologist could not confirm whether the medications were directly responsible for the death,” said Shittu.
To allow for additional questioning of the forensic expert, the inquest has been rescheduled for June 11th.
The autopsy on Mohbad began eight months ago.
Because of Mohbad’s strange death, the Lagos Police Command said that his body was exhumed on September 21, 2023, for post-mortem examination.
The Lagos Police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, made this announcement via his official channels.
Furthermore, Hundeyin announced the arrest of the nurse suspected of administering the musician’s fatal dose.
The police assembled a 19-person panel early on in the inquiry to conduct a comprehensive examination that included chores like exhumation, autopsy, scene inspection, medical assessments, and obtaining statements from witnesses and suspects.
The panel was given two weeks to complete its thorough inquiry.
