The actor Kanayo O. Kanayo happily gave his son Clinton his first paycheck from his film career and bestowed upon him his father’s blessings.
Recall that the renowned Nollywood star recently commemorated a noteworthy achievement for his son Clinton Mbaise, who entered the film industry while upholding African customs.
During a film shoot, the actor introduced Clinton to the staff at Simpliciter Associates Productions, his own production company, in a video that went viral on social media. Clinton was to work as his father’s personal assistant and assistant production manager.
But the actor has been seen taking Clinton’s first pay check as a Nollywood assistant production manager.
He also used the occasion to exhort others, rather of going to their pastors, to ask for their fathers’ blessings with their first paycheck.
Kanayo emphasized the special power of a father’s blessing and pointed out that a parent’s choice regarding how much of their child’s earnings to take is their own.
He said, “I want to witness a culture from our forefathers that has resulted in the advancement of many people you see today, a “Blessing from Father.”
“My son Clinton recently finished a couple production management projects with us, and he received his first pay—N50,000 for a film—this past week. Please give me N500 from your N50,000 pocket, Clinton.
“After a young man receives his first paycheck, he goes to his father and says, ‘Nnayi, my salary is N50,000. The father may chose to take the full amount or any amount, and he will now bless him.
“His father wanted to teach him about financial management, which is why he asked him about his salary.” We do not value the time you waste going to pastors to offer your pay; it is not part of our culture.
