Many cocoa farmers and traditional leaders in Samreboi and its neighbouring communities in the western region’s Amenfi West district poured into the streets to protest bad roads.

The Western Region has been Ghana’s leading producer of cocoa since 1984, but generally bad roads leading to cocoa farms.
At least 14% of Ghana’s cocoa cash comes from the Western Region, and farmers say the government needs to do more to repair deplorable roads.
Bolgatanga residents in the Upper East region have recently embarked on a march across the capital’s deplorable streets.
