A middle-aged man, Nana Owusu, who claims to be a registered member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) says he was charged by the party with mobilising young men for a vigilante group, but has since been ignored.
He also reports that one Coach has hired him to prepare young men to be used for the current president in 2008 as observers and bodyguards.
Upon mobilizing the guards for President Nana Akufo-Addo, Nana Owusu said the said Coach charged him with mobilizing 500 youths who were used as party observers before the 2008 elections.
He claimed that the party promised him a house and gave him money, but they never fulfilled their promise.
He said he mobilized 500 bodybuilt men for the party in 2008 in his account, using his resources to pay for them, a situation that collapsed his company.
Although the party did not win the 2008 elections, Nana Owusu said he was told of a house and reimbursed his money every time the party gained power.
”But I have been neglected after the party won the 2016 elections,” he said.
Speaking on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm to Kwabena Agyapong, Nana Owusu suggested that he was a pauper now.
He admitted to the host that he used to be a NPP paraphernalia wholesaler.
“I lost all my capital, I became helpless, and yet the party failed to help me,” he added.
“I wrote to the party, and they promised to refund my money after winning power. However, after winning power, they have neglected me,” he stated.
Nana Owusu said he had written on the matter to Freddie’s party chairman and John Boadu’s general secretary and was expecting them to respond.
He said he lost more than 1 billion cedis in 2018 when asked about the amount of money involved.
