Indigenous car manufacturer Kantanka says it is ready to produce electric cars by the end of this year.
Chief Executive Officer Kwadwo Safo Kantanka Junior says the move is to further demonstrate to Ghanaians and the world that they are able to compete on the global stage for innovation.
Speaking to Bola Ray on Wednesday Starr Chat, Mr. Safo said that with a new office in Dubai, the company is expanding to other parts of the world.
“Kantanka will be building electric cars by the end of this year that could travel between Accra and Kumasi before recharging. We’re going to do that before the end of this year.
“Our company is growing rapidly and we now have another headquarters in Dubai and the challenge is healthy for us because they understand luxury and it’s good for us,” he said. Kantanka Automobile Company Limited is a subsidiary of Kantanka Group of Companies founded by Kwadwo Sarfo Kantanka, the founder and leader of Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana.
