President Akufo-Addo has formally received a petition from the National Identification Authority (NIA) Division of the Public Services Workers Union, Trades Union Congress (TUC) Ghana, requesting the dismissal of Executive Secretary Professor Kenneth Attafuah.
920 NIA employees have signed the petition, which is dated July 1 and has the backing of almost the whole workforce.
The staff and union have decided to petition your esteemed office to remove Professor Kenneth Agyemang Attafuah due to unfair labor practices that violate labor laws, the Human Resource Manual and Policy Framework for Ghana Public Services, violations of SSNIT law, a lack of creative ideas to manage the administration of the authority, a poor corporate governance structure, and selective and administrative injustice in staff recruitment, placement, and promotion.
The staff voiced worries that Prof. Attafuah’s term would cause more harm and damage to his reputation.
“His employees can no longer confidently collaborate with him because they have totally lost faith in his ability to lead.” These alone, together with his violations of SSNIT Acts and labor laws, constitute good reason to remove him from office right once, the petition said.
