• Nam1 fails to appear in court when summoned

• The CEO of the now-defunct Menzgold has been charged with conspiracy to defraud through deception.

• Nam1 and two others will be taken before an Adentan Circuit Court following their detention.

A bench warrant has been issued by an Adentan Circuit Court for the arrest of Nana Appiah Mensah, commonly known as Nam1, the Chief Executive Officer of the defunct gold dealership firm Menzgold Ghana, and two other people.

The three are claimed to have ignored a court-issued appearance order for Thursday, November 4, 2021.

The CEO and the other accused, Gabriel Kwamigah, nicknamed Gabby, and Eric Amponsah Bediako, alias Cana, have been charged with conspiracy to defraud by false pretences.

The bench warrant for their arrest was issued after the accused failed to appear in court for the second time.

According to a GNA report seen by YesGhanaOnline, the accused are being held over the purchase of vehicles from a businessman valued at $210,000.

Mrs Sedinam Awo Balokah, the presiding judge, has ordered that Nam 1 and the two other accused be brought before the court as soon as they are apprehended.

As a result, the case has been adjourned sine die.
