I Have No Hatred Towards Johnson Asiedu Nketiah – Ofosu-Ampofo.

Despite losing his post to Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the current National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, the previous National Chairman of the opposition party, has stated that he has a very positive relationship with Nketiah.

In a recent interview, Ofosu-Ampofo—who lost the party’s internal elections in 2022 to Asiedu Nketiah, the party’s 17-year general secretary—emphasized their friendly connection.

During an interview on ChannelOne TV (previously Citi TV), Ofosu-Ampofo stated, “I have no issues. Since my arrival from the US, I have spoken with every prominent party member. We had a conversation when I phoned the National Chairman and the General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi. They called to see how I was doing after he [Asiedu Nketiah] and the Speaker traveled to the US for a meeting. Thus, we are completely problem-free. I have absolutely no issues at all.

Ofosu-Ampofo pledged to back the NDC’s new leadership in order to guarantee its victory in the general elections of 2024.

“Winning the elections in 2024 is the NDC’s main goal. When I got to the airport, I explained to the reporters that I was there to help the party in its efforts. He stated, “The new executives are performing quite well and are expanding the party’s boundaries.

“The flagbearer [Mahama] is everywhere; he’s working,” he continued. The conditions are right for the NDC to win. And I think that for now, the only thing I can do is show up and help with the excellent work that is already being done.

Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo refuted reports that he was planning an anti-party conspiracy with National Youth Organizer George Opare Addo.

“If you heard, it’s not true, but I didn’t hear.” I’ve seen him from a distance, and I believe he’s doing a fantastic job. I have mentored many members of the party, which explains why they claim he’s their guy. There are those at the national executives who I have dealt with. I wish to remain anonymous.

I believe I have mentored a significant number of people around the nation. By any stretch of the imagination, it is quite dishonest of anybody to even imply that the present Youth Organizer will be taking any action to weaken the party, the speaker said.

Ofosu-Ampofo also emphasized his lifelong friendship with John Mahama, the previous president.

Indeed, my journey with the late President Mahama has been rather extensive.

“We were sworn in as MPs on the same day that we joined parliament. He would attest, as a previous party chairman, that if someone demonstrated loyalty, commitment, and dedication to his course, it might be unmatched.

“He will tell you that I worked with him up until this point and was there for him around-the-clock if you ask him. I am so grateful to him. I speak with him on a daily basis,” he explained.
