Ejisu NPP PC Said, “Remove ‘Unpopular’ Wontumi From The Forefront Of Your Campaign.”

The social analyst Andy Nana Owusu has counselled lawyer Kwabena Boateng, the parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Ejisu constituency, to reevaluate Bernard Antwi Boasiako’s, also known as Chairman Wontumi’s,  engagement in his campaigns.

He claims that his counsel is in response to assessments that Wontumi, the regional chairman of the NPP, has significantly decreased in popularity and influence among voters.

He issued a warning, saying that Wontumi’s involvement in the campaign would backfire and alienate people instead of winning them over.

“Kwabena Boateng, even though he cannot exclude his regional chairman from his campaign, I would suggest he take a step back, at least for now.

“He should be behind and not at the forefront because the love that the people used to have for him is no more.

“Even before his (Wontumi) elections, the love wasn’t there, so during the elections, he was smart to have gone to the hinterlands for support; otherwise, he would have lost abysmally,’ he said on a panel discussion on Oyerepa TV on April 24, 2024.

Owusu underlined the need to uphold popular opinion and hinted that Wontumi’s leadership role in the campaign would be harmful to their chances of winning.

“His role as the regional chairman requires him to help, but letting him take the lead at this point could alienate people,” he continued.
