Security Staff Saves Chief From Lynching

A Security personnel’s prompt action this weekend saved Togbe Ananipati V, a claimant to the paramount stool from being lynched at a grand durbar to climax this year’s Apenorto festival of the chiefs and people of the Mepe traditional area.

The festival is presently being held at the Presbyterian Park in the traditional Mepe region in the traditional region of North Tongu. Security staff hurried to rescue Togbe Anepati sitting in state but were beaten and his crown removed by a gentleman who had been whisked away by celebrants.

GNA investigations disclosed that the gentleman assaulted the chief on the basis that he was not eligible to sit in state as there was a situation in court over a legitimate stool occupant in the main region.
