African Stadiums Are Nicer Than Mine – CNN Reporter Makes Fun Of Manchester United After Leaking Information About Old Trafford

Larry Madowo, a correspondent for CNN, has taken aim at Manchester United for the condition of their Old Trafford Stadium.

On Sunday, May 12, 2024, Madowo, an avid supporter of Arsenal football, attended the Premier League match between Manchester United and Arsenal at Old Trafford.

A strong downpour during the match—which Arsenal won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Leandro Trossard in the first half—uncovered serious roof problems in the stadium.

Many football fans have deemed the encounter, which Madowo recorded, to be inappropriate given Manchester United’s standing.

“I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t filmed the Old Trafford waterfall myself,” the Kenyan broadcaster said as the caption for the video. Africa has better stadiums, in my opinion.

Arsenal legend Martin Keown has criticized Manchester United for their poor upkeep of Old Trafford, saying that the leaking is worse than their defense.

 Match report

Arsenal’s tenacious 1-0 victory over Manchester United on Sunday assured that the Premier League title contest will go all the way to the last day of the season.

Although Mikel Arteta’s team has at least pushed Manchester City to the limit, they still know that victories in their next two games will guarantee first place.

Scott McTominay robbed Thomas Partey on the edge of the Arsenal box, allowing Rasmus Hojlund to have a golden opportunity to open the score for United, but the Danish striker stumbled and missed.

Soon after, Kai Havertz took advantage of Casemiro’s inability to play him offside and squared for Leandro Trossard to score, making Arsenal pay too.

For the rest of the first half, the Gunners appeared to be in control of the match, but as it went on after the interval, the home team started to put pressure on them.

As the heavens opened and United huffed and puffed into six minutes of stoppage time, Arsenal held firm. Now, they must defeat Everton on the last day of the season while hoping that City will make a mistake against either Tottenham or West Ham.
