Augustine Arhinful Supports The Requests To Improve Accra Sports Stadium And Baba Yara

Augustine Arhinful, a former forward for Ghana, has joined the push to upgrade the Baba Yara and Accra Sports Stadium for international matches.

Before the match against the Central African Republic, the Black Stars players voiced their displeasure with the Baba Yara pitch. Following Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s visit, Thomas Partey, who captained the Black Stars during the games against Mali and the Wild Beast, voiced concerns.

A forward from Bulgaria also revealed earlier this week that playing surfaces had an impact on performance.

Arhinful, who spent time playing for the Black Stars in the late 1990s and early 2000s, maintains that maintaining the condition of the grass in at least the two national stadiums is crucial.

“I think that’s a wise decision. If we can replace all of the grass on these fields and then have the right maintenance personnel on the field, I think we will always be grinning. At least we have Accra Sports Stadium and Kumasi Sports Stadium, Baba Yara said to Citi Sports.
