Baba Yahaya Of Kotoko Acknowledges, “I Didn’t Live Up To Expectations”

Baba Yahaya, a midfielder for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, has acknowledged that his first season with the team wasn’t particularly memorable.

The gifted young player came from King Faisal to the Porcupine Warriors last year in order to bolster the group.

Yahaya admits he fell short of expectations despite playing in 25 Premier League games and dishing up five assists.

The attacker-midfielder has promised Asante Kotoko supporters that he will put in a lot of effort to improve his team’s performance in the upcoming campaign.

“I know my limitations, so I didn’t live up to the supporters’ expectations. There are always difficulties in the first season, but starting with the second, I want to live up to the hype. I promise to work hard for it,” Yahaya stated.

On Friday, June 28, the midfield player and his Asante Kotoko colleagues will return to training in anticipation of their Democracy Cup matchup against Hearts of Oak.

On July 5, the game is slated to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium.
