Black Stars’ World Cup Qualifying Roster Includes Jonathan Sowah – Reports

There are rumors that Jonathan Sowah, a former striker for Medeama, may be included in Ghana’s squad for the June 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana is scheduled to play Mali and the Central African Republic; before the official squad announcement, Sowah’s possible participation is expected.

Sowah is anticipated to return, despite missing the team’s March international friendlies against Uganda and Nigeria.

Sowah, who plays for Al Nasr Benghazi in Libya, has had an incredible season. In six league games, he has scored five goals, tied for the team lead in scoring.

His success in the Ghana Premier League the previous year earned him a spot in the Ghanaian team for the Ivory Coast Africa Cup of Nations in 2023.

In Ghana’s 1-0 loss to Comoros in the World Cup 2026 qualifying round, Sowah played in his first competitive match for the Black Stars.

Otto Addo, the coach of the Black Stars, will soon announce the team for the forthcoming qualifications.

On June 6, the squad will travel to Bamako to play Mali. On June 10, the team will play at home in Kumasi against the Central African Republic.
