For Us, It Was A Bad Season, Kotoko Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum Said

Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, the head coach of Asante Kotoko, has called the 2023–2024 Ghana Premier League season a bad one for the team.

Last season, Asante Kotoko had trouble winning games in the GPL and experienced a run of games without a victory at one point.

With 49 points in the league, the team finished in sixth place, which was a respectable result.

Coach Ogum lamented his team’s lack of success in winning the majority of their home games last season while summarizing their play at the end of the campaign.

“The season wasn’t enjoyable. When it came to our on-field performance, we were unable to accomplish our goals. We didn’t perform up to par, in my opinion,” the coach said on the team channel.

He mentioned that their unsuccessful attempt to capture the league title was partly due to the outcomes of some of these games.

In particular, there were a few home games that we lost and drew. Asante Kotoko shouldn’t have lost or drawn, generally speaking. These games are what kept us from taking home the Cup, if you look at them,” head coach Ogum stated.

He said, “The joy of the fans is at Baba Yara because when you win, the fans become excited, and because we couldn’t win, it made everything unpleasant.”
