Key Players Like Richmond Lamptey Are Expected To Miss Kotoko’s Battle With Medeama

Asante Kotoko will have to prepare without a number of important players as they take on Medeama in a pivotal Ghana Premier League match on Saturday.

Last weekend, the Porcupine Warriors defeated Samartex in a highly contested match, snapping a losing streak of six games in a row. They still want to maintain their winning streak in spite of this.

But Asante Kotoko might be without as many as eight key players when they meet Medeama. Injuries have kept left-back John Tedeku and midfielder Richmond Lamptey out of action, and winger Isaac Oppong’s health is still a concern.

After being unable to practice with the team, Peter Amidu Acquah, Ibrahim Danlad, the goalkeeper, and Nurudeen Yussif Mohammed are being evaluated by the medical staff.

Additionally, Michael Kyei Dwamena, the midfielder, will miss the important match because he is not recovering fully. Sherif Mohammed, a versatile midfield player, is also sidelined while he recovers from a successful surgery.

Before their encounter against Medeama, Asante Kotoko is confident despite the absence of these important players. Since April 2021, the two teams have played six times; Asante Kotoko has won four times and Medeama has won twice.
