After completing his Hajj to Mecca, Black Stars defender Mohammed Salisu has fulfilled one of Islam’s five pillars.
Salisu posted pictures of himself on Instagram standing in front of the Kaaba, the sacred stone located in the middle of the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca.
The defender for AS Monaco has now received the honorary title of Alhaji, which is bestowed upon a Muslim who has successfully completed a pilgrimage, after completing the journey.
Following his participation in Ghana’s two victories in the season-ending 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifications, Mohammed Salisu is making his way to Mecca.
Following the end of the 2023–2024 football season, the Black Stars player is presently on vacation.
Salisu will play in the UEFA Champions League after assisting AS Monaco to a second-place finish in the just concluded Ligue 1 season.
