Prior To The U17 WAFU Zone B Championship, The Black Starlets Will Play A Friendly Match Against Niger.

The Black Starlets of Ghana will play a friendly encounter against their Nigerian counterparts on Thursday to round off their preparations for the WAFU Zone B U17 Championship.

The game at the Accra Sports Stadium is set to begin at 15:30 GMT.

This friendly match is the last practice match the Black Starlets will play before the WAFU U17 Championship begins on May 15, 2024.

The team has been working hard in preparation for the event under the direction of coach Laryea Kingston, and they hope to improve their tactics and techniques during the encounter against Niger.

Ghana’s U17 team is looking to build on areas noted at the UEFA U16 International Development competition, which was hosted in Russia. The team came away from the competition with two wins and one loss.

The Black Starlets have a great chance to correct any errors and perfect their strategy in the friendly versus Niger.

Also, as Niger is ready to compete in the WAFU Zone B U17 Championship, this friendly match is essential preparation for them as well.

Ghana is placed in Group A with Benin and Ivory Coast, while Niger is in Group B with Nigeria, Togo, and Burkina Faso.

Since the WAFU Zone B U17 Championship is the qualifying event for the 2025 U17 AFCON, it is very important.
