Romeo Ricky Roy, The Late Black Stars Fitness Trainer, Is Honored By Kudus, Ayew, And Salisu.

Football players from Ghana have started paying tribute to the late Romeo Ricky Roy, the fitness coach for the Black Stars, who passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024.

Astonishment at the news was initially expressed by Black Stars players Patrick Kpozo, Mohammed Salisu, and Antoine Semenyo.

In a touching tribute to the departed mentor, team captain Andre Ayew was joined by Mubarak Wakaso, Mohammed Kudus, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Gideon Mensah, Fatawu Issahaku, and numerous others.

Some players have prayed for Roy to rest in peace, while others have sent their condolences to his bereaved family.

Romeo Ricky Roy was the personal trainer for multiple players on the Black Stars and the team’s fitness coach.

He was initially added to the Black Stars support staff in 2021, the year of Milovan Rajevac’s second head coaching appointment.

During his stint, he served as the team’s trainer for both the Africa Cup of Nations, which was hosted in Ivory Coast, and the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Roy was also a member of the coaching staff at Vision FC, a team in the Division One League.

He directly taught a number of players, including Baba Rahman and Edmund Addo.
