Roy Keane Commends Him For “Doing Things That Took Me Ten Years To Learn” Mainoo Kobbie

Kobbie Mainoo, a young player of Ghanaian heritage, has garnered acclaim from Manchester United veteran Roy Keane, who noted that Keane had to work for ten years to reach the same level of performance.

In the 2-1 victory over Slovakia in the Euro 2024 Round of 16 extra time, Mainoo made his debut as an England starter. Before being replaced later in the game, the 19-year-old was one of the most impressive performers on the pitch.

Mainoo showed off his excellent passing abilities during his 84 minutes of play, as only three passes were misdirected. Keane was thrilled with Mainoo’s performance and complimented him on his skill level and comprehension of the game.

Keane told ITV: “You see the things he is doing; I played in that position, but he’s doing things that probably took me 10 years to learn.”

Mainoo participated in three England games during the Euros, beginning with the victory over Serbia.

He started the match against Slovenia on the bench but was back on the field against Denmark.
