Following the completion of the Ghana Premier League season in 2023–2024, Asante Kotoko plans to release fifteen players.
The club will part ways with a number of well-known players, including Steven Mukwala, Richmond Lamptey, Danlad Ibrahim, and Isaac Oppong, according to a list made public by GHANASoccernet.
Mukwala was the team’s leading scorer at the end of the current season. The Ugandan is about to leave because he has declined to renew his contract.
Likewise, the contracts of Isaac Oppong, Richmond Lamptey, and Danland Ibrahim have expired.
At one point in the season, Kotoko lost six straight games, tying its worst record in 14 years. It was one of their worst seasons in recent memory.
With 49 points, the Porcupine Warriors placed sixth after winning 14, losing 13, and drawing 7.
