The Kpandai chiefs and individuals in the Northern Region expressed their gratitude to President Akufo-Addo for the building of the Kpandai-Ekumdipe-Salaga highway and the execution of a raft of measures that improve their living standards.
The Chiefs made this known on Friday, August 16, 2019, when President Akufo-Addo cut the sod for the construction of the Kpandai-Ekumdipe-Salaga Road project, will be constructed and completed in 24 months.
In a declaration read on their behalf by Brukum Napoleon Bonapart, the chiefs indicated that “you (President Akufo-Addo) have proved to the individuals of Kpandai, yet again, that you are a truthful individual who will not talk in vain.” According to the chiefs, “the sod-cutting ceremony for the building of the Kpandai-Salaga highway represents the fulfillment of centuries of hope and expectation that one will be fulfilled. Truly, a redeemer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has emerged. “The chiefs assured the president that” your name will stay indelible in the minds of the Kpandai individuals forever. For posterity, your accomplishments will continue. Your mandate as President of Ghana will be extended in 2020 because the voice of the people is the voice of the Almighty God. “President Akufo-Addo also received praise from the people of Kpandai for the implementation of the Free Senior High School Policy, which, the Chiefs stressed,” saved thousands of households who have so far struggled to give their children valuable opportunities.
The President was also commended for implementing the “Planting for Food and Jobs” program and the Nation Builders Corps initiative, which employed some 100,000 graduates across the country.
The Chiefs added that whenever the New Patriotic Party government takes over the helm of government, the Kpandai individuals witness unprecedented rates of growth.
“It was under the leadership of former President John Agyekum Kufuor that Kpandai District was carved out of East Gonja District and also built a bridge across River Dakar at Kumdi. That was the time that put us on the prosperity road, “the declaration said.
It continued, “Today, Mr. President, Kpandai is proud to have a tarred highway connecting Krachi Nchumuru and Nanumba South Districts respectively. Moreover, Kpandai is seeing a lot of infrastructure developments across the district in the area of education, health, among others. “Later that day, President Akufo-Addo also inspected ongoing work on the construction of the 76 km Bimbilla-Salaga Road, which is anticipated to be finished in some 24 months.
The project contractor assured the president that the project will be finished in less than 24 months, as 40 percent of the expected project has already been finished.
